Thursday, February 25th, 2021—Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school hosted its monthly virtual Student of the Month Ceremony where it recognized students and staff for demonstrating the character trait, ambition. As we have many ambitious and hard working Atoms and staff at the school we would like to congratulate all of our nominees and the Atoms. Saturday, February 27th, 2021—The Syracuse Academy of Science high school boys Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball teams have faced many a fierce opponent this season with games that were certainly nail biters. The Atoms are currently ranked 4th in their division with two games left in the seasons. Their next game is scheduled for 03/09 against Bishop Grimes. Their season will conclude on 03/11 against their opponent, Bishop Ludden. Good luck, Atoms! Saturday, February 27th, 2021—The Syracuse Academy of Science high school Lady Atom’s varsity and JV Basketball teams are having quite the season. The varsity Lady Atoms are currently ranked 3rd in their division and most recently took on cross-town rivals, Christian Brothers Academy.
The next game for the Lady Atoms will be on 03/09 against their opponent Bishop Grimes. Their season concludes on 03/11 against their opponent, Bishop Ludden. Good luck, Atoms! Friday, February 12th, 2021—In preparation for Black History Month, the Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school teachers were busy at work flexing their creativity. Lining the hallways and entrances to their classrooms were filled with pictures and quotes of influential African Americans the Atoms would be learning about throughout the month of February. Friday, March 5th, 2021—This high school senior has some serious game both in the classroom and on the court. Let us welcome to the ‘hot seat,’ Marcus Pasha. Syracuse Academy of Science had an opportunity to virtually interview Marcus, who shared with us his plans following graduation, his hidden talent, favorite memory at Syracuse Academy of Science and so much more. Friday, February 26th, 2021—In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month the 6th and 7th grade Atoms at Syracuse Academy of Science middle school participated in an Art and Writing Contest. Students were tasked with creating works of art in the form of a poem, short story, essay, digital poster, drawing or painting. For their efforts, participants received certificates and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. themed t-shirts. With many great entries, we would like to congratulate the following students for their art and writing submissions.

Friday, February 26th, 2021—Throughout the month of February, Syracuse Academy of Science celebrated Black History Month. Students in elementary, middle and high school observed the month by learning about contributions African Americans have made to this country. Today, we share the work created by the high school Atoms in the Social Justice Committee. Their posters highlight a celebration of various African American achievements. Monday, March 1st, 2021—In honor of Women’s History Month, Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school will be honoring 22 noble women who have made a cultural and or historical impact on society. Some of the women featured include and are not limited to: Princess Diana, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Anne Frank, Michelle Obama, Malala Yousafzai and many more.
