Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School

On the weekend of May 1 and 2, hundreds of spectators were captivated by the SAS Drama Club’s production of “The Agony and the Hilarity: The Life of Teens.”  Directed by Mrs. Bice and Mr. Chaloux, the play consisted of eleven vignettes that illustrate the ups and downs that teenagers typically face in life.

The awkwardness of wearing the same dress to prom, finding your way around a new school, being labeled a ‘nerd’, surviving an unfortunate event in class – these scenes and more were brilliantly portrayed by SAS’s finest actors.  The Drama Club members included in the productions were: Geoffrey Allison, Sharissa Becker, Kellie Conerly, Louis DiGiuseppe, Olivia Frazier, Katie Johnston, Kelly Nicholson, Gennifer McClain, and Shadayvia Wallace.  The Technical Crew was led by Steven Csiga, Ariel Phipps, and Anitra Sanderson.  Ms. Felton, Ms. Harned, Ms. Kelly, and Mr. McGann of the SAS teaching staff stole the show with their special appearances.  Rehearsals for the show began in late January and were held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening.  Mr. Chaloux and Mrs. Bice would like to give a huge congratulations and thank you to all the people – cast, crew, parents, staff – that made the show such a success!!
