Friday, October 6th, 2023: Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School top Class Dojo earners for September were surprised with a dodgeball game! Atoms have worked hard to earn respect points, be on task, participate in class, and be positive citizens. October points, focus on the monthly character trait, Accountability!
Friday, October 6th, 2023: October is Manufacturing Month, and what better way to celebrate than with a field trip! Several of our high school students had a chance to take a tour of Byrne Dairy Inc. Atoms experienced the process of how many of our favorite dairy products are made, and learned about the vast number of career opportunities that the dairy industry offers.
Friday, October 6th, 2023: What happens when you put a bunch of Syracuse Academy of Science Atoms together? Just like magic, each Atom supports one another to make something bigger and better. On Friday, October 6, the Atoms got together to support our fall athletic teams and celebrate being part of Many Atoms One Family!
Thanks for your team spirit, and good luck this season, athletes!
Friday, September 29th, 2023: Each month, Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary celebrates a character trait that we hope to see all of our students exhibit! At the end of the month, one student from each class and special is selected to be the Student of the Month for best representing that character trait. For September, the character trait was Responsibility. At the beginning of the school year, the Social Emotional Team explained to students what it means to be Responsible. Responsibility means being dependable, making good choices, and taking accountability for your actions. A responsible citizen looks out for the well-being of others and understands we all have a part to play in making the world a better place. Last week, we announced the Students of the Month, and each one was given a certificate, a dress-down pass, and a pin to wear all day!
Here are our September Students of the Month! Help us celebrate them!
Wednesday, October 4th, 2033: College visits are an important part of the curriculum at Syracuse Academy of Science High School. That includes visiting college campuses and representatives coming to the high school to speak with students. This time, Canisius University and Elmira College representatives visited the school. Small groups interested in learning more about the colleges met with the speakers in the conference room. Both institutions are known for their small class sizes, allowing students to experience college life in an intimate learning environment.
