Syracuse Academy of Science middle school students created poster boards and presented on science fair or world religion topics in their end-of-year Academic Fair.

Tuesday, June 21st, 2022As the 2021 - 2022 school year came to a close, Syracuse Academy of Science middle school hosted one last event for the year, the end-of-year Academic Fair! This year's fair allowed the Atoms to showcase all their hard work, talent, and creativity. Students in each class were asked to create a poster board and present on a specific topic.

Mrs. Swidowski's science class students displayed science fair boards and Google slide research projects on various topics. Some of these topics included how to make a homemade lava lamp, water absorption, tooth decay from fluids we drink, and much more.

Miss Catanzarite's social studies class created information boards on world religions. Some of these religions included Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism.

In addition to these incredible informational projects, the Academic Fair proudly displayed artwork from the students. Please click here to visit our Facebook page to view additional pictures from the Syracuse Academy of Science middle school’s end-of-year Academic Fair.

4th-Grade Atoms are Middle School Bound!

Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school’s 4th-grade students toured the middle school, and met with 5th-grade teachers prior to their moving up ceremony.

Monday, June 13th, 2022We all know moving to a new place can be very challenging and sparks many questions, especially when transitioning from elementary to middle school. To help ease the burden and anxiety, Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school students had an opportunity to visit and tour the middle school prior to their Moving Up ceremony.

During their trip, Atoms spent the morning visiting classrooms and meeting the 5th-Grade teachers. Students also asked many questions about what they can expect and anticipate for next year as middle school students.

The highlight of their visit to Syracuse Academy of Science middle school was seeing the Spanish classroom and, of course, the Cafeteria!

Atoms Bend It Like Beckham During Soccer Match

Syracuse Academy of Science high school hosted its annual Students vs. Staff soccer match at Syracuse Indoor Sports Center, where the staff won 11-9.

Friday, June 3rd, 2022Syracuse Academy of Science high school hosts its annual Students vs. Staff soccer match each year. This friendly (yet competitive) game has been a favorite among the students and the staff. Year after year, the staff have always proved to be victorious. Will this year follow the same trend? Let's find out!

Leading up to the last week of school, Atoms and the Syracuse Academy of Science high school staff headed to the Syracuse Indoor Sports Center for their time-honored tradition of the Students vs. Staff soccer match. To prepare for this annual competition, the staff had to call on a bit of reinforcement (aka Atoms alumni) to keep their winning streak alive. After weeks of practice, warm-up drills, and stretching, the staff once again proved to be victorious amongst the students with a final score of 11-9.

We want to thank Mr. Bility for organizing this year's Students vs. Staff Soccer Match; Mr. Tabbara, Mr. Usher, and Mr. Cummings were the game's MVPs. All your hard work certainly has not gone unnoticed; thank you! We also want to give a quick shout-out to everyone who was able to show their support during this time-honored Syracuse Academy of Science high school tradition. We wish the Atoms the best of luck next year!

Creativity is on Full Display at Art Show

We ‘ART’ our Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school Atoms (or should we say artists), as they proudly display their beautiful masterpieces during the annual Art Show.

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2022Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school students' creativity was on full display during their annual Art Show. This year's art gallery contained many original pieces from the talented works of Ms. A-B's students. Included in the gallery were drawings, paintings, pottery, and much more.

This year's art gallery also allowed its patrons to interact with the exhibit by participating in hands-on, creative activities. These activities include coloring a giant sheet of paper, a paint by colors station, and making their own Atoms Spinner. In addition to this exhibit, guests were encouraged to visit the 'silly photo station' to commemorate this moment.

We want to thank all the teachers, faculty, and staff who helped make this event possible and our fabulous art patrons (aka parents, families, and friends) for their continuous support throughout the years.

We invite you to click here to visit our Facebook page to view additional pictures from Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school’s Art Show.
